Welcome to the new edition of the Adventure Race organized in Cracow-Czestochowa Jurassic Upland. Unique scenery and terrain obstacles are the work of Nature, we have just added professional services and logistics from our side. You must know that not only you condition and strength counts but your strategic thinking capabilities will also be tested here. Choose the route which works best for you (MASTER, SPEED, EASY) and feel the adrenaline among the Jurassic limestone hills, caves, rocks, desert sands and ruins of the medieval castles.
The race goal is to pass the route as described on the map and completing all the special tasks. The competitions are prepared in a way which allows everyone to participate in it giving opportunity to gain new experience during the Race. Due to the wide range of the Race Partners the cost of participation in the event is low however at the same time gives an opportunity to win valuable prizes.

Rules and Regulations
JURA SKAŁKA ADVENTURE 2011 will be organized on 27-28 May 2011 and located in Cracow-Czestochowa Jurassic Upland. There will be three roots varying in length and skills /condition requirements for participants
MASTER route – about 180 km long – trekking, biking, kayaking
SPEED route – about 40 km long – trekking
EASY route – about 15 km long – trekking
* The above are the lengths of the optimal length.

There are three Race categories: EASY, SPEED i MASTER. Every category has own classification.
1. EASY ROUTE
VARIANT EASY SPORT
- 2-person teams, aged 13-15 years, regardless of sex
- 2-person teams, aged 16-17 years, regardless of sex
VARIANT EASY FAMILY
- teams consisting of 2 to 4 people - parents with children (over 7 years) or team of seniors ( persons over 50 years). In case of family teams age difference between parents and children must be at least 20 years.
2. SPEED ROUTE
- 2-person men’s teams, aged 18 years and over
- 2-person women’s and mix teams, aged 18 years and over
* Participation of persons over 16 years is allowed if accompanied by an adult.
3. MASTER ROUTE
- 2-person teams, aged over 18 years, regardless of sex
1. Only teams registered in advance can take part in the Race. Registrations must be done until 23 May 2011
Registrations done after due date and before start of the Race may be accepted conditionally if there are vacancies. Please note that in such cases entry fees will be higher (see paragraph 4)
2. Registration process:
a. Filling registration form that can be found on the website of the Race www.rajdjurajski.pl
b. Paying the entry fee
c. Participants under 18 years: submission of written consent given by parents / guardians
Such a consent can be done by parents / guardians in the presence of TMZZ employee on a day of registration or in the presence of the Race Office staff during the check-in. Otherwise the credibility of the written consent of parents or guardians shall be confirmed – in writing and stamped – by the employer or another institution.
- Signed written consent to participate in the race must be given by all participants during the registration at the latest
- Entry fees
- EASY route (variant SPORT and FAMILY): 20 PLN for under aged, 40 PLN for adults (if paid later that 23 May 2011 respectively 30 PLN and 50 PLN per person)
- SPEED route: 50 PLN per person (after 23 May 2011 – 70 PLN per person)
- MASTER route: 90 PLN per person (after 23 May 2011 – 125 PLN per person)
Entry fee can be paid:
in cash at TMZZ office located in Zawiercie, Piastowska 1 street, tel: 032 672 21 65 or in the Race Office during the registration

- Payment booking date determines amount of the entry fee. Information about received payments will be published regularly on the Race website.
- In case of participant’s absence on the Race fee will not be returned
- In case team will resign before 23 May 2011 – 50% fee will be returned
IV. CONDITIONS OF QUALIFICATION FOR THE RACE
1. Proper age required in the certain category (age measured in full years on26 May 2011)
2. Filling the application form on the website of the Race: www.rajdjurajski.pl.
3. Providing signed written consent to participate in the Race
- Adults sign the consent that they take part in the Race at their own risk
- Under aged participants must provide medical opinion that there are no objections against their participation in the Adventure Race. If above not possible they must provide written contest from parents /guardians (done either in presence of TMZZ employee or the Race staff) to be allowed to participate without adult companion (EASY route) or with adult companion (SPEED route) as described in paragraph III.2.
4. Entry fee payment (confirmation of payment should be demonstrated during check-in
5. Valid ID card or other document of identity to be shown to the Race staff
6. Personal insurance policy providing accident cover whilst doing Extreme Sports (valid on the territory of Poland)

2. Exceeding the time limit by team causes adding penalty points. Reaching the finish line after cut-off time (18.30 for SPEED, MASTER or 16.30 for EASY) results in a team disqualification.
3. Last team on the CP with Special Task will be accepted at 17.30 (SPEED, MASTER) and 15.30 (EASY).
4. CPs with Special Tasks will be closed at 18.00 (SPEED, MASTER) and 16.00 (EASY) regardless of the number of waiting teams
5. Detailed location of start point, lobby and finish line will be published on the Race website www.rajdjurajski.pl
1. The Race participants are required to apply the principles of FAIR PLAY on the routes. Neither alcohol nor drugs are allowed. Violation of the above rules may result in a disqualification and participants can be asked by the Race staff to leave the Race Base.
2. The Race is intended for 2-person teams consisting of adults, teens or children aged over 7 years (exception: EASY route, FAMILY variant where teams may consist of up to 4 persons)
3. No mode of travel other than specified by race officials is allowed at any times. Receiving assistance from not authorized persons is not allowed. Violation of the above rules results in a disqualification
4. Splitting teams, resignation of one of the team member or changing a team member prior to completion of the Race results in a team disqualification
5. Teams are not allowed to form into bigger groups during the Race
6. Teams must past through CPs within indicated time limits. On majority of the CPs participants will be given special tasks.
7. For the CPs with special tasks participants should made at least attempt to perform special task in order to receive credit for the CP.
8. Presence at the CP must be confirmed on the Race Card by using perforator. Special tasks will be evaluated additionally and score will be noted on the Race Card.
9. Final classification of teams is a result of number of the points gained for performing special tasks and time of the Race completion
10. Teams which obtain all CPs will be ranked first in the classification
11. Teams which collect part of the CPs will be ranked after the teams with all CPs obtained. Detailed rules of gaining points will be published on the Race website
12. The Race participants are obliged to follow the rules of moving in water areas, landscape parks, nature reserves, forest areas as well as comply with the traffic regulations and fire protection rules. It is forbidden to move in agricultural areas
13. Number of teams participating in the Race is limited. Vacancies will be filled in order of the registration. List of the teams will be published on the Race website and available in the TMZZ office.
14. Changes of the team members (if any) must be reported by teams during the check-in in the Race office at the latest.
15. Under aged participants (EASY SPORT route) take part in the Race without companion of their adult guardians
16. The Race will take place regardless of the weather conditions
17. The Organizers do not provide transportation for teams which drop out from the Race before completion
18. The organizers do not provide accommodation. Information about available accommodation in the Race area can be found at: www.podlesice.org.pl, www.zawiercie.zhp.pl
19. All participants who drop out from the Race are obliged to report it either in person in the Race base till 28 May 2011 21:00 (Saturday) or by calling the Race Office Chief‘s number printed on the maps. Failing to notify the Race officials will result that participant may be charged for undertaken search and rescue operations
20. Race Cards
- Each team will receive Race Card. Score points and obtaining CPs will be marked there. Loosing or damaging the Race Card results in disqualification of team
- Returning Race Card to the Race office after crossing the finish line is treated as completion of the Race
Race Numbers
- Each team will receive Race numbers during check-in
- Participants are responsible for having Race numbers visible at all times
- Even partial covering of the Race number is forbidden
- Teams are allowed to put on their clothes the sponsor’s brands and the names of the teams
1. Special tasks are supported by highly qualified staff: Polish Mountaineering Association instructors, recreation instructors, police officers, firefighters, mountain climbers, WOPR rescuers, Red Cross, GOPR Mountain Rescuers and PTTK guides
2. All Racers are obliged to follow Judges instructions while performing special tasks. Judge has right not to allow certain participant (team) to perform a task and is entitled to terminate task performing if risk of danger found. In such cases participants/team may ask for another attempt to perform task properly however if there are other teams waiting at the CP team will be moved to the end of waiting queue.
3. Time required to complete special tasks is included in the total Race time. There are time limits of special tasks completion, detailed information will always be provided by the Judges at the CP
4. In case team waits at the CP on their turn to do special task waiting time will not be deducted from final time result
5. The order of doing special tasks by teams is determined by time of arrival of the last team member to the Checkpoint area (all team members must report their arrival in person to the judge standing at the CP)
6. Each team member is awarded points for participation in special task
7. During special tasks performing participants must wear /carry full set of individual equipment unless specified differently at the CP
8. All special tasks are performed by the participants at their own risk
9. Examples of special tasks
- rock climbing
- caving (vertical and horizontal)
- rope techniques: the rope bridge, rappelling
- water crossing
- the police obstacle course
- orienteering
- logic puzzles and tasks
- cycling (SPEED)
- kayak obstacle course (SPEED MASTER)
Some tasks may be changed. Exact description of the tasks will be presented to participants at the Briefing prior to the Race start.
VIII. INDIVIDUAL EQUIPMENT OF THE TEAMS
1. Mandatory equipment – will be verified during check-in and may be controlled during the Race
All teams:
- Personal IDs and insurance policy
- First Aid kit (elastic bandage, gauze bandage, sticking plasters, dressings, antiseptic liquid or spray)
- 1 compass per team
- 1 torch per each participant
- mobile phone per team (working one)
- provisions for the race
- pen or pencil per team
Additional mandatory equipment for MASTER route participants:
- one bicycle per each racer
- one bicycle helmet per each racer
- bicycle lighting: white front (head torch can be used instead) and red rear
- usage of own climbing harness and oars is allowed
Teams can prepare additional equipment (e.g. extra clothes, shoes, provisions) which after packing and signing can be deposited in the Race Base. Additional equipment of . MASTER route participants (weighing up to 5 kg each) will be delivered to the Transition Areas. Total number of Transition Areas will be published on the Race website two weeks prior to the Race start at the latest.
During the whole Race participants are allowed to use only the equipment carried with them. It is forbidden to use any equipment or provisions delivered by non-authorized third parties
IX. ITEMS PROVIDED BY THE ORGANIZERS

- Please also note there is possibility of taking shower at the finish line (subject to additional fee)

MASTER Route prizes for teams
(provided that the category will be staffed by at least five teams)
I place – participation of team in an European Adventure Race
II place – participation of team in an European Adventure Race
III place – prizes of value approximately 1000 PLN
IV place – prizes of value approximately 500 PLN
SPEED Route prizes for teams
(provided that the category will be staffed by at least five teams)
Separate classification for MEN and WOMAN/MIX teams
I place – prizes of value approximately 700 PLN
II place – prizes of value approximately 500 PLN
III place – prizes of value approximately 300 PLN
IV place – prizes of value approximately 100 PLN
EASY Route prizes for teams
(provided that the category will be staffed by at least five teams)
EASY FAMILY VARIANT
I place – prizes of value approximately 200 PLN
II place – prizes of value approximately 150 PLN
III place – prizes of value approximately 100 PLN
IV place – prizes of value approximately 50 PLN
EASY SPORT VARIANT
Separate classification for TEAMS aged 14-15 and 16-17 years
I place – prizes of value approximately 200 PLN
II place – prizes of value approximately 150 PLN

IV place – prizes of value approximately 50 PLN
1. Rules and Regulations may be changed prior to the Race start. In such case changes will be published on the Race website and information will be shared during the pre-race Briefing
2. The Race participants are obliged to follow safety instructions on the Race routes and while performing special tasks
3. The Organizers may not take responsibility for any damages caused by participants to other participants or third parties during the Race
4. The organizers are in charge of removing any team or participant from the Race for the following
- inability to continue the Race based on Medical staff opinion
- breaking the Rules and Regulations or laws in force on the territory of Poland
5. Formal protests in writing signed by two members of the team along with a 100 PLN can be submitted to the Chief Judge after crossing the finish line and not later than 19:00
6. Participants agree for processing the personal data strictly for the purposes of the Race in accordance with the regulation for the protection of personal data passed on the following day: 29.08.97r. DzU nr 133 poz. 883.
7. Participants agree for publishing their image in the media relations and promotional materials prepared by the Organizers
8. Final scores will be published on the Race website and may be forwarded to the media for further publications
9. The final interpretation of above Rules and Regulations will be made by the Organizers
